Seton High School has a rich tradition of engaging students in the Fine Arts. Students can develop their individual talents in Visual Arts, Vocal Music, Instrumental Music, and through other Fine Arts electives. Private Voice and Piano lessons are also available before or after school.
To fulfill diploma requirements, 1 unit of credit must be accumulated. Please see our Curriculum Guide for course descriptions.
In addition to the development of foundational skills, students wishing to pursue an interest or career in the Visual Arts can develop college portfolios through advanced coursework focused on concentrations, including: Painting, Fibers and Fabrics, Graphic Design, Printmaking, 3-D Design (sculpture/ceramics), Photography, or Typography/Calligraphy.
In addition to Freshman Chorus, students wishing to pursue an interest or career in the Vocal or Performing Arts can engage in Concert Choir throughout their four years at Seton High School. There are also unique opportunities to engage with Elder’s Glee Club and perform in Seton’s renowned Seton-Elder Performing Arts Series.
Students wishing to learn to play a Band instrument can engage in Beginning Instrumental Band. This course meets the fine arts requirement and prepares students to participate in Elder’s Marching Band or Elder’s Steel Drum Band.
Both AP Art 3 and AP Art 4 are available for early college credit through our strong partnership with Mount Saint Joseph University. Please visit AP & Early College Credit (Dual Enrollment) for details and to see a complete listing of both AP and Dual Enrollment Courses available.
